Vapour barriers
A wide range of certified vapour control membranes and foils, from active vapour control membranes with low Sd values to vapour barriers with very high Sd values, including reflective membranes that reflect thermal radiation and fire-resistant solutions. They are widely used in residential and industrial construction for the insulation of attics, floors, and walls in masonry, timber, timber-frame, CLT, prefabricated, passive, and modular building technologies.
Eurovent® vapour control membranes act as an effective vapour control layer in roof assemblies, floors, and walls, supporting the control and regulation of indoor humidity levels. In addition, membranes from the Eurovent® CLIMA and AKTIV series can also be installed on the external side in pitched roofs—both with full boarding and without boarding.
Active Eurovent® vapour control membranes feature a variable diffusion resistance range, with Sd values from 2 m to 10 m. They are equipped with a special functional film that protects against uncontrolled water vapour flow while allowing controlled diffusion—small amounts of vapour can migrate through the membrane, enabling the drying of the building envelope and preventing condensation. This distinctive property gives the product its so-called vapour control “activity”.
Vapour barriers are membranes and foils characterised by very high diffusion resistance, with Sd values of ≥ 100 m. They act as a barrier against the migration of water vapour from the interior of the building towards the attic, floors, or walls.
