Snow protection

Snow protection systems prevent the sudden sliding of snow from roof slopes. They protect people, vehicles, and building components such as gutters, eaves, and façades, significantly increasing the safety of building use.

On pitched roofs, solutions such as snow guard fences, snow pipes, snow beams, and point snow guards are commonly used. The selection of the appropriate system depends on the type of roof covering, roof pitch, and the local snow load zone.

Point snow guards are mainly used to disperse and slow down the movement of snow on the roof slope. They interrupt the continuity of the snow cover, reducing the risk of sudden sliding, and are most often installed in the eaves zone or as a supplement to other protection systems.

Snow guard fence systems are designed to retain larger masses of snow on the roof slope and transfer loads to the roof structure. They are primarily used on roofs with steep pitches, in regions with heavy snowfall, and wherever a high level of protection for people, façades, and infrastructure elements is required.

In practice, these solutions often work together—snow guard fences act as the primary protection, while point snow guards support their performance, especially in critical roof zones.
