The ridge is the highest point of the roof and plays a key role in roof ventilation. This is where air exits the under-roof space, allowing moisture and heat to be effectively removed from the roof structure.

Correct ridge ventilation prevents water vapour condensation, moisture build-up in the thermal insulation, and degradation of wooden structural elements. Maintaining continuous airflow significantly extends the service life of the entire roof structure.

Ridge tapes provide both ventilation and a tight, weatherproof ridge finish, whereas ridge ventilators are dedicated ventilation components with a large air outlet area, often used for specific types of roof coverings.
