PUR
The Eurovent® PUR sealing tape is designed for sealing in the construction industry. Made of polyethylene foam with closed cells structure and coated on one side with an adhesive based on acrylic dispersion. Elastic structure allows to align the counter-batten installed on the roof membrane.

Application and Technical Data
Eurovent® PUR sealing tape is used for sealing and insulating roof and building structures. Applied below counter-battens, it compensates for unevenness and seals the points where roofing staples and nails penetrate the roof membrane, helping to prevent water and moisture from reaching the rafters and thermal insulation. It can also be used as supplementary acoustic insulation.

To ensure maximum performance of PUR, it is recommended to use it as part of a complete roofing system together with:
- Eurovent® roof membranes (roof underlays / underdeck membranes), which protect the roof structure against moisture and provide a stable substrate for sealing applications performed with PUR foam,
- Eurovent® vapour control membranes (vapour barriers), where PUR acts as an airtight filler for joints and service penetrations,
- Eurovent® sealing and adhesive tapes, complementing the performance of PUR in areas requiring additional protection against air leakage and moisture ingress,
- Eurovent® metal flashing elements, where PUR can be used as a flexible filling and insulation material for hard-to-reach cavities and detailing zones.
The use of complete Eurovent® system solutions guarantees high sealing efficiency, reduced heat loss and long-term protection of the roof structure.

Why is PUR installed beneath the counter-batten?
The flexible foam tape fills uneven areas between the counter-batten and the membrane and seals the points where nails or screws penetrate the roof underlay.
Does PUR really protect nail penetration points?
Yes. The resilient closed-cell foam structure surrounds the fixing and reduces the possibility of water reaching the rafters.
Is PUR useful only on roofs?
No. It can also be used as a sealing material and supplementary acoustic insulation in other structures.
Why is sealing the counter-batten important?
Many fixings that penetrate the membrane are installed through the counter-batten. Sealing this area improves the protection provided by the roof underlay.
PUR or butyl tape beneath the counter-batten?
PUR uses resilient foam that compensates for unevenness, while butyl solutions provide a very strong, pliable seal. The choice depends on the construction and the required system.
