Expanding window tape
COMPRE 3W
Eurovent® COMPRE 3W is a multifunctional expanding tape made of polyurethane foam impregnated with synthetic resin for sealing installation joints around windows, doors and garage doors. It provides thermal and acoustic insulation and protects the joint against moisture, wind and rain. It replaces expanding foam and window tapes. Building material class B1 according to DIN 4102-1; driving rain resistance ≥600 Pa.
The tape is not permanently resistant to UV radiation and rain. Exposure during installation is limited to 3 months. After installation, it must be permanently covered against direct weather exposure.

Application and Technical Data
Designed for use in three-layer window and door installation systems, Eurovent® COMPRE 3W is intended for sealing installation joints and gaps around windows and doors, as well as for the installation of blinds and garage doors. It replaces the traditional combination of expanding foam and window tapes, providing a complete sealing solution in a single product. Suitable for use in modern, energy-efficient, passive, timber-frame and prefabricated buildings, as well as in renovation and refurbishment projects.

System Products
To achieve maximum performance of Eurovent® COMPRE 3W, it is recommended to use it as part of a complete system together with:
- Eurovent® roof membranes, which protect the roof structure against moisture and work in conjunction with the sealing provided by COMPRE 3W in critical details and junction areas,
- Eurovent® vapour control membranes, where COMPRE 3W supports airtight connections between the vapour control layer and structural elements,
- Eurovent® sealing and adhesive tapes, which complement the performance of COMPRE 3W in areas requiring enhanced airtightness and protection against water ingress,
- Eurovent® installation accessories, ensuring the correct positioning and long-term stability of components sealed with COMPRE 3W.

Why is COMPRE 3W called a multifunctional tape?
One product can protect the window installation joint against rain, wind and moisture while also providing thermal and acoustic insulation.
Can COMPRE 3W replace the traditional foam and window-tape combination?
That is its primary purpose. A correctly selected expanding tape can provide a multifunctional joint seal without several separate layers.
What does driving-rain resistance of ≥600 Pa mean?
It confirms the seal’s resistance to rainwater acting under considerable wind pressure.
Is the tape UV-resistant?
The tape is not permanently resistant to UV radiation and rain. Exposure during installation is limited to 3 months. After installation, it must be permanently covered against direct weather exposure.
Why must the expansion range be selected correctly?
After expansion, the tape must operate within its specified compression range. Only then does it achieve the required sealing performance.
