Snow protection

A system designed to protect roof slopes against sliding snow, developed with the safety of building users and the protection of roof components in mind.

Eurovent® solutions include the Eurovent® SNOWSTOPPER snow guard fence system, the Eurovent® TUBE snow pipe system, and the Eurovent® BLOCK snow beam system. The range is complemented by snow splitters and Eurovent® SNOWSTOP snow guards.

All components are made of high-quality steel, protected with an anti-corrosion coating and powder-coated in RAL colours, ensuring durability and reliable performance in harsh weather conditions. Each system is designed for easy and secure installation on various types of roof coverings and to meet the requirements of local snow load zones in accordance with PN-EN 1991-1-3.

FAQ

Good to know

What are snow protection systems on roofs used for?

Snow protection systems prevent the sudden sliding of snow from roof slopes. They protect people, vehicles, and building components such as gutters, eaves, and façades, significantly increasing the safety of building use.

Are snow protection systems required by regulations?

In many cases, yes. The use of snow protection systems results from local climatic conditions and design requirements related to snow loads, as specified in PN-EN 1991-1-3.

Which snow protection systems can be used on pitched roofs?

On pitched roofs, solutions such as snow guard fences, snow pipes, snow beams, and point snow guards are commonly used. The selection of the appropriate system depends on the type of roof covering, roof pitch, and the local snow load zone.

What materials are Eurovent® snow protection components made of?

Eurovent® snow protection components are made of high-quality galvanized steel and additionally protected with a coating finish. This ensures resistance to corrosion, weather conditions, and long service life of the system.

When should point snow guards be used, and when are snow guard fence systems recommended?

Point snow guards are mainly used to disperse and slow down the movement of snow on the roof slope. They interrupt the continuity of the snow cover, reducing the risk of sudden sliding, and are most often installed in the eaves zone or as a supplement to other protection systems.

Snow guard fence systems are designed to retain larger masses of snow on the roof slope and transfer loads to the roof structure. They are primarily used on roofs with steep pitches, in regions with heavy snowfall, and wherever a high level of protection for people, façades, and infrastructure elements is required.

In practice, these solutions often work together—snow guard fences act as the primary protection, while point snow guards support their performance, especially in critical roof zones.
